Sunday school classes at St. Peter are held every Sunday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Children may begin Nursery class at the age of three and then continue advancing through Pre-K, Kindergarten, etc until they are confirmed at the conclusion of eighth grade. Teachers are volunteers from within the congregation who have a contagious enthusiasm and personal calling to educational ministry. Class size is typically between five and fifteen students. However, due to the growing influx of children beginning Sunday school, Nursery and Pre-K grades also have several parent helpers.
The Sunday school hour is divided into two portions; biblical study and music. While lesson approach varies according to teacher and student age, the curriculum for each grade is aimed at achieving very specific goals.
The youth ministry at St. Peter’s is overseen by the Education Committee however Mrs. Jackie Hatcher fulfills the weekly duties of Sunday school Superintendent. Encouraging and always supportive, the children and teachers are blessed by her leadership.
