St Peter Contemporary Worship
Bread for the Journey!
Almost three years have passed since Contemporary Worship first debuted at St. Peter. Held each Sunday at 11 a.m. (starting in May 2008, Praise Worship will be held on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm through August )in the Fellowship Hall, this worship is for those seeking less ritual and more praise. The service is led by a ministry team consisting of twelve enthusiastic servants of Christ. The music is live and modern. The atmosphere is casual and open. Worship is projected onto a wall using PowerPoint and makes participating fun. Families find Contemporary worship especially fulfilling as children are able to freely dance, play sticks and often times are invited to be part of special presentations.
The worship itself consists of contemporary music, confession, devotion, and prayer as well as the weekly psalm. Communion is offered every week. Pastor Hatcher delivers a sermon that is often put into a context that even the youngest child attending can relate with his/her life. Do you have a confirmation student in your family? Contemporary worship also can be attended to obtain sermon notes required for confirmation classes at St. Peter.
Ok. So all of this sounds good but you’re still unsure of what “'contemporary worship” is. Join us prior to worship for coffee and socializing. Stick around for 45 minutes of uplifting music and prayerful time with God. Don’t let another weekend pass without the joy of Christian fellowship and the promises of the Word. We’d love to see you!
